Signature block standards

When configuring your signature, please keep in mind the following:

Lines: maximum 10
Characters: maximum 1000
Text font sizes: minimum 8 pt., maximum 14 pt.
Individual images: maximum 100 x 300 pixels
Maximum number of images: 10
Maximum total file size of all images in sigs: 80 Kb
No hotlinking directly to images on other people's web sites! (Linking to your own or to images on photo sharing web sites is acceptable.)

Just a friendly reminder to all and sundry to keep your sig blocks nice and concise for the good of the board!

Just because you can post a bigger image doesn't mean you should! We've found that, if we set limits on sig image sizes through the admin panel, the board often refuses to let anyone post anything, whether or not it's within the parameters set. We don't want that to happen, so we rely on our members to voluntarily keep their sig blocks to sizes that don't take up too much space or slow things down for people with slower connections. If you're in doubt about whether your sig block pic is within the limits, right click it and select Properties--that will show you its file size and dimensions. If it's too big, please modify it with a photo editing program or find a different one!
