Healing Thoughts Request

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

My wife Shannon has recently been stricken ill, in fact she was rushed into emergency surgery and died on the operating table, but she pulled herself back, was on life support for 12 days, and is now making the long journey back to strength and health. My sense is that if her spirit wished to remain here, then she has great art left to do in this world - she is a painter.

This has been the most devastating event in my life, and I have been through a lot. She is only 44 years old, and until now hasn't had a sick day in her life. She's been the love and muse of my life, so much that I cannot put it adequately into words.

She's now without a colon, gall bladder, appendix, and some of her small intestine. She has yet to have the wound sewn back together and it's been almost 20 days. This was phenomenal work on the part of modern medical science, but it bodes a long, long road ahead. Her spirit needs the strength to endure and overcome.

If any one would be so kind to send a bit of energy and good wishes her way I would feel truly blessed.

My heart goes out to you & Shannon. As a nurse (an operating room nurse at that) I have seen people survive & thrive through the most unbelievable situations. The capacity for the human body to heal & the human spirit to overcome never ceases to amaze me.

Shannon is still in hospital, it's been since July 14. The wound is still open. It is due to be closed either Monday or Wednesday of next week. They have finally removed her tracheotomy. Her spirits are remarkably high. She's told me to pass on her appreciation for all the good thoughts. She wasn't really conscious until last week, and when she finally came awake her first words, looking out the window, were, "I remember rain...." and started crying. A very good start I think. wink
