ZAIREEKA by Mark Richardson - A book about how and why the Flaming Lips came to release an album of 4 seperate cds that have to played at exactly the same time. Fascinating stuff. If you've never heard the Flaming Lips , do yourself a lemon and get the whole back catalogue , they truly are the law.

Ok, at this time it goes like this;
The Book of English Magic by Phillip Carr-Gomm & Richard Heygate. Very interesting and informative. I like the things to do and places to visit sections very much.

"Eclipse" the 3rd book in the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. Don't know why I'm drawn to these I just am. In this book though I am getting bored by the eternal love triangle....I wish she would just cut to the action, find myself "speed reading" through never ending sections of mushy poor teen romance to get back to the story.... :D

Just finished a really intriguing booklet I picked up on holiday called "The White Witches" a History of Charmers, by Rose Mullins. Photos and anecdotes of Cornish cunning folk who healed by "Charming". Really absorbing and a nice diversion on a long journey.

Bright Blessings

I'm reading "The Sidhe" by John Matthews...
The sounds of the winds in the elms
like the strings of a harp being played,
the note of the blackbird that claps
with the wings of delight in the glade.

The Bones of Avalon by Phil Rickman, John Dee get's got caught up in some grim business while searching for the bones of Arthur. He also writes under the names of Will Kingdom and Thom Madley. Phil's crime stories always seem tohave an element of the supernatural and folklore.

Working my way through all of the Dresden Files books. I like his wit and outlooks on life, especially in the face of life-ending odds.

Hi all,

Among others I at this moment read a Dutch book: "In resonance with nature" (in Dutch: In resonantie met de natuur) by Hans Andeweg (don't know if it's translated in English yet, if not it should be immediately...!!), a book about how to really communicate with nature (trees, plants, stones) and energetic influences of colours, music, pyramids, reiki, crop circles and so on. Wonderfull and very inspiring and down to earth all the same...

Blessed Be,
Night Owl

Right now I am reading The White Bone by Barbara Gowdy.I can't tell you much about it because I just started it. But, I can tell you that it is supposed to be good. The story is about an elephant named Mud. What is neat is its from the elephant's point of view. I just finished Can You Hear The Nightbird Call? by Anita Rau Badami. It was an epic tale of what life is like as a Sikh in India. The story starts in 1928 and spans fifty years. Following partition and the bombing in 1985 over the coast of Ireland. It was a very interesting and I learned a lot about India, and I cried once too.
One of the characters referred to Masala Dosa. Yum. I have had them too and know for a fact that they are delicious. They are very light and make a nice lunch.
By the way I have read a few Terry Pratchett books too.
I read The Bromeliad-Truckers,Diggers,Wings.Good Omens with Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
Wyrd sisters, Guards Guards and The Fifth Elephant.
It is sad that Terry Pratchett has been diagnosed with early on set Alzheimers.

What do Hindus Believe? by Rachel Dwyer (part of the What do we Believe series , natch)

and and and

Easy Eco Auditing by Donnachadh McCarthy , this is just the most inspiring book ever , everyone should own a copy , it is brilliant , and lights a fire under your arse. And it shows how much can be done by simple good housekeeping , rather than spending thousands on wind turbines etc. Inspirational stuff truly. I'll be doing my own Eco-audit soon , which i'll post - hope i'm not too much of a drain.

"A People's History of the World".

Fascinating stuff. It looks at all of history from the point of view of class struggle and avoids mention of famous figures in hostory.

"The Hidden Side of Things" by Charles W.Leadbeater.

A shot in the dark when I ordered it. Apparently he was a man who could see atoms before scientists used technology to see them. He even drew their configurations. But my interest was particularly piqued by some of the topics he covered in this book. Here are some sample subject headings:-

    The Fourth Dimension
    The Higher World
    The Purpose of Life
    The Living Centres
    The Vitality Globule
    Fairy Life and Death
    Temples, Sites and Relics
    The Three Paths
    Consecration
    Sounds in Nature
    Sensitive People
    The Vision Investigated
    The Etheric Shell

and so it goes on .... sounds good, huh?
Positive energies.

Vapour Trail
...and then he was gone...
