i am merlin

Postby wyeuro » 04 Apr 2008, 06:58

here's my song. it's voice only, but i'm working on it! There are three other verses, but that would make too big a file, and perhaps the shorter version is a better song.

http://www.esnips.com/web/wyeuro-songs

here are the lyrics:

I am Merlin

Still are the winds and so am I.
The sacred stars are blazing in the sky.
Long and lonely sigh the waves upon the sand -
Oh how the moon shines o’er all this weary land.
O people, hear me.
I am Merlin, I am he.
I am Merlin, hear me!

I stand alone upon the shore.
Many are the deaths; each death’s a door.
Gone and banished be the cruel tyrant powers!
Let truth blaze forth from every hill and tower!
I am a warrior of love.
I draw nwyfre from above.
I am Merlin, hear me!

Look into the mirror of my eyes.
There see your wild celestial skies.
Zodiac charms ring the still starry poles.
Crystal clear they sing the sagas of our souls.
I am the charm you are the charmed.
Soothed is the way, the spirit calmed.
I am Merlin, hear me!

Three Times the Sun - Explorer & Calluna le Fay
This is a love song... ofcourse.. Two lovers, the Sun and the Moon, sing to each other. How they will meet, part and meet again in 3 days, 3 months, 3 years. Calluna wrote and sings the part of the Moon, I wrote and sing the part of the Sun.

Click to listen: Three Times the Sun
(alternate version)

Em C
When your soft kiss on my cheek ...wakes me from my slumber
I see you move in front of me, clad by sky.
While you slowly dance on the rythm of the running water.
You softly draw circles around me

G D C Em
And when the night fades into a cruel bright dawn
You leave me like a dream, until three times the sun.

C Em
Three times the sun
Three times the sun
C Em C

Em C
When I see you rise to release me from the shadows
I open my arms and receive your warmth.
And while the frozen earth finds again her blazing colours
You lightly draw circles around me

G D C Em
And when the day fades into a cold dark night
You leave me like a dream, until three times the moon.

C Em
Three times the moon
Three times the moon
C Em C

Em C
When your gentle touch on my hands.. moves my soul within me
Like the shadow of a spirit who treds, on a beam of light
When our symbols interweave to form the meaning of creation
You softly draw circles around me.

G D C Em
And when the night fades into a cruel bright dawn
You leave me like a dream, until three times the sun.

Refr: (sun)

Em C
And in my heart I keep the secret words you whisper
While your burning touch draws patterns on my skin.
And as you climb your way up and down the sky
You lightly draw circles around me

Refr: (moon)

Em C
When I see you slowly disappear over my horizon
I still feel your presence so near.. you pull me in.
Because the promise that we made, our bonds are ever lasting.
And you softly draw circles around me
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence

The Running of the Deer

Postby Fox » 06 Apr 2008, 23:00

The Running of the Deer

The tune to this song is based on the traditional American song "Pretty Polly".

Come with me and be my love
In the Springtime of the year
Dance joyous with the honeybee
And with the running deer

chorus:
May your heart always be happy
And your singing always clear
May you run forever fair and free
With the running of the deer

Come with me and light the fires
That promise fertile crops
Gather flowers from the woodlands
And from the mountaintops

(chorus)

Drive the cattle through the flames
And leap the raging fire
Look into my loving eyes
And feel my heart’s desire

(chorus)

By hart and hare and trout and wren
By land and sky and sea
By the running Lord of Stags
And the dancing honeybee

(chorus)

By the spin of moon and stars
And the cooing turtle dove
In the springtime of the year
Come and be my love

May your heart always be happy
And your singing always clear
May you run forever fair and free
With the running of the deer

By and By

I wrote this song about a month ago for my husband and me. It's our story through the seasons of our lives. It's more than a love song, it's a song that chronicles our companionship through time and space, and promotes our individualities at the same time. We are each walking our own paths, but they run alongside one another. We were married 6 years ago, this May, and as my husband says, "We finally have a song." Happy Bealtaine!

We started in the spring
When we were both metamorphosing
You listened to me sing
You became the sun to my raining

And as we went walking out under the sky
We'd spent our childhoods learning to fly
Restlessly searching and not knowing why
But we found each other by and by

We feel the summer breeze
And we are both climbing our own trees
And travelling the seas
Ensuring this cup never empties

And as go walking out under the sky
We spent our childhoods learning to fly
Restlessly searching and not knowing why
But we found each other by and by

When the leaves begin to turn
And our skins are weathered and sunburned
We'll measure what we've learned
Share the memories that each of us has earned

And as we go walking out under the sky
We spent our childhoods learning to fly
Restlessly searching and not knowing why
But we found each other by and by

And when the winter breaks
We'll both come to peace with our heart aches
And covered in snowflakes
We'll fall into sleep as the earth takes us home

And as we go walking out into the sky
We'll spend our childhoods learning to fly
Restlessly searching and not knowing why
But we'll find each other by and by

The basis of druid tradition:
To honour the gods,
To do no evil, and
To practice bravery.
