here's my entry. it's an icon. i painted it several years ago and it really took hold of me. i realised as i was painting it that it was quetzalcoatl, but since my knowledge of him was so superficial and i was only infatuated with the outer imagery of his myth, i was very humble about allowing myself to identify him as such. but he's stayed with me, and every now and then as the board it was painted on (old masonite) flakes a bit and the pain fades i repaint it to bring him back to life and up to date. he was a benign god, a son of venus, who taught high ideals and opposed human sacrifice, only to be coldly rejected by the wicked priests. now when i meditate with him, the highest ideals of the peace movement and positive thinking are the fruits of my meditation. i've learnt to love him from knowing him, as well as from the glitter and glitz of his gorgeous feathered serpent.
