Of the Circle:

In casting, care, the circle round
In blessing, bliss, divine is found
In quarters, quest, each welcome door
In working, wonder, spirits soar
In closing, calm, at rituals end
The silver thread all things will mend.

Ancient Rite:

As The Drums Of Justice Pound,
The Flute Of Pan Sound.

Chants Of Monks Are Heard Loud And Clear,
Unknown Words They Speak Might Cause Fear.

An Ancient Tongue Is Heard Again,
But Who Here Will Think Them Sane?

Phrases Of Justice, Honor, And Code,
Always Stand Firm And Bold.

For United We Stand,
Feet Held Firm On this Land.

The Spirit Of The Earth Flows Through Us All,
A Secret Truth Is That Divided We Fall.

For We Are The Children of Ceridwen,
With This Rite Our Lives Will Never End.

Magic Is Real And True,
As My Words Are Spoke Plainly From Me To You.

Will You Hear My Plea,
For All I Want Is For You To See.

That Respecting Nature's Spirit Can Go A Long way,
That Is To Say If You Don't Already Follow The Old Way.
For some people seeing is believing, but some of the most real things in the world are the things we can't see

one day

harvest me one morn
gently let me fall
fierce and without scorn
follow Goddess's call

bury me one day
gently let me rest
to Earth let me sway
I am a tired guest

drink to me one day
and to all good life
nothing more to say
leaving the bitter strife

Lazy Days.

Lazy hazy sunlit day,
Bees hover over
Earth toned wallflowers
And purple lavender
Drunk with the scent
Of Summers colour.
While my cat slumbers
In the midday heat,
Dreaming of birds, that whirl,
In the blue soaked sky.
I sit, at days dusky end
Listening to the drone
Of the bees, returning to
the hive sounding
like squadrons of planes
returning to their base.
Then the cat, charged with
Sun stored energy
Wakes, stretches,
And goes on the prowl.
While I sleepy
From the days heat
Sit and ponder.

A posh English summers day

Summer time is so heavenly
maybe a heaven made just for me
Relaxing, drinking Pimms on a boat down stream
having a hoot on a tandem ride

Such an array of colour
A full pallet that pleasure the eyes
Busying bumble bees
pollinating flowers for their queens

Ball games upon the village greens
cucumber sandwiches
Earl grey tea,
taking a nap in the shad of a dappled tree

94 West

I saw a Hawk at sunset,
Not at the usual dawn.
He sat so still and quiet,
My day rushed on and on.

He looked towards the western light,
We saw the sky glowing red.
I saw the light in his eye,
Then heard his voice in my head.

“I have some lessons for you,
Take them and put them to use.
One is to follow your heart,
Another, to follow the Muse.

“Your heart is your spiritual center,
The Muse, your creative guide.
The Goddess, your constant companion,
These facts you soon will not hide.

As I continued towards work,
The Hawk sat watching the sun.
A verse came to me from the Tao,
“Retire when the work is done.”
"The great and mighty go their way unchecked. All the hope left in the world is in the people of no account." -Ursula K. LeGuin, Tales of Earthsea

My Love,

Here I am now standing,
On this celebration of first harvest night.

Throughout the year we’ve planted Seeds.
Seeds of Thoughts, Seeds of Deeds.
We’ve buried Seeds of Love, of Desire.
Of Fear, of Hope, internal Fire.

What has been sown?
What shall be reaped?
What has been grown?
To forever keep?

Now this wicker man we set alight.
The fire’s now demanding…..

The question that remains, you see…
Will you be sharing your life with me?

Lughnasadh Blessinges,

Katsu

Comets and Clouds

Silent melodies run between you and me
As a ribbon connecting your heart to mine
Over mountains of fire and rivers of ice
Through oceans and canyons, an unbroken line

Beyond caves carved from ardent waves
Threaded tenderly through a thousand stars
To rest around the sky’s silken neck
Amongst Saturn’s rings and the rubies of mars

Past comets and clouds the sound carries on
Threaded right through the eye of a storm
And there in my mind the tempest rages
Fear cuts me through and the ribbon is torn

Tears lash at my face and stars flame red
Hot with anger at my ever doubting soul
Branches bend and I nearly break
Deafened by my screams and the thunder’s roll

Nature’s fury softens to a gentle whisper
Breathing words of comfort on a warm breeze
The music begins again, kissing my ears
And your name is whispered from within the trees

Dare I listen to their hypnotic voice?
Urging me to follow all that lies inside
For if I close my eyes you will have me
And yet...
It is already too late – the ribbon is tied...

Silent muse
'Tis Autumns breath cross distant field
that stirs the meadow brown,
in hedge grove bare of springs bouquet
near Yeats bones to be found.

the drums are heard by those who care
and joined in promises made,
a fallen soul, a silent muse,
to the dirt he will be laid.

and the song of the flute will lead the dance
of those that now remain,
the notes drift high, and low, and far,
embracing those that came.

the fire sparks crystals of amethyst and blaze
from rosewood and willows fuel,
the setting sun now cast away,
and darkness comforts the few.

and the soil accepts the offered muse,
as fodder for the poets pen,
for she knows in wisdom born of time,
this soul will rise again.

as do the dancers who spin and laugh,
no morning will be shared,
for a poets pen lays not still long,
before it sings once more.
Blessings by the Oak Tree

The Lady Who Grows Onions On Her Window Sill.

The lady who grows onions on her window sill
Gazed Westerly , whispering sunshine
Her Heart alight from inside and out
An old May-girl waving
At the new Birch and the old Birch
Singing to the onions
That this day she made , all new all early
Singing to the dead Elder , awake .
This day she made me awake .
The Blackbirds sang two together ,
The Robin sang and the crick in his neck
Went from out of his neck
Swifts danced , three together
Pidgeons necked
On the roof ridge tiles .
There's a Lady who's sure all that glitters is Gold.
And she grows onions on her window sill .

The Deceivers

Postby Arilit » 04 Jul 2008, 06:24

Was my choice,the silvered pin
Landed here,a goal,a whim.
Spin the globe a quarter turn.
I am the deceiver.

This extra limb of golden heat,
Of swaying palms and citrus sweet.
Stretch back to my epicentre.
I am the deceiver.

The hills of birth with wounds so deep,
Barefoot runs to sugarloaf peak.
The open arms beckon back.
I am the deceiver.

Communications open,phone and internet,
My tones and emotions previously set.
Place me back at my True North.
For they are The Deceivers.

mistletoe spirit child

like a bird’s claw is your tiny hand,
little wooden fingers clinging deep…
hush little mistletoe spirit child
mother tree holds you, holds you!

greening sweetly the summer sun’s
and the winter clouds shining
makes of your tender leaves
sweet smiles, your sky daddy laughing.

mother-milk sap, sky sugar sweetness
how like a bird, high up, aloft,
breathing air filled with meanings,
air that has been words, listening air.

tiny birds flit lightly in your twiggery
noble caterpillars, magic beings, sages
feed, split skins, pupate and splendidly
burst black, gold and silver from your leaves.

hush little mistletoe spirit child
magical mystical vegetal mind.
dream sweet dreams in the moonlight
dream soft dreams for the world.

Innocence

Dream of night
in the belly
where terror moves,
love, and desperate
wanting; I am there

I am near
between flesh and fire
to rend your mind,
snap it free of your heart

I am shape
dissolving in fever,
conjuring melancholy
of memory;
weaving you

I am goddess
hag and fierce
the other face
behind the mirror

Remember once
you were glorious;
red of mouth and
blazing eye-
Once, you were mine

Eternal Soil

We hear ancient names
Delivered in ancient ways
Spoken from inner dimensions
Whispered loudly through cellular transmissions
Spread out through softly spoken waves
Collecting footsteps throughout our days
More numerous than solar rays
Remembering the rising falling land masses
Salty waves and volcanic gasses
Still black nights and hot fire ashes
Holding you while our world falls and crashes
Just to rise back up and seal its own gashes
Nothing is forgotten on this eternal soil
Every life every fetal coil
Has been recorded upon these sandy shores
For it is the Earth that holds our name true
When parts of me were at one time...parts of you

Druid is,
As Druid was,
As Druid ere shall be.

And so it was,
And so it is,
And stll it works for me.

These are Loki's dog days
when the heat of the sun's rays
grasp hold of the land,
unconsciously, like lover's hands.
Below, under the surface,
pressure's building in the furnace
hammerhead clouds are building
the fertile shaft of lightning.
These are the Druid's outward days
when the land demands we raise
protection against her blights
and knowingly pursue her rights.
Afterwards, during the autumnal,
in freedom shall her fruits full fall.
Most dear is fire to the sons of men,
most sweet the sight of the sun;
good is health if one can but keep it,
and to live a life without shame. (Havamal 68)

I should have entered this at Beltane, but it hadn't come to me yet!

Madrigal

Come, my love, o come
to the field, to the stream,
to the woodland bower,
where faeries flit and green men roam
and all the Earth bursts forth,
ripe, fecund, fertile, alive!
Let us go a-maying
with sun in our eyes,
blossoms in our hair,
drawing the newness into ourselves
as the Lady smiles on us.
Hail the spring,
Bright Lady Spring!
Sap rising in stem and leaf,
Spirit rising in every creature,
as the Wheel turns
and brings us back to our beginnings.
Willow the still inkless

Peace over anger. Honour over hate. Strength over fear.

Eagle

a mirage against the clouds
circling
as though floating in air

eyes calmly staring
fixating
on the meadows below

aggressive yet gentle
pulsating
beautiful yet feared
