Sweet Potato Casserole

*2.5 lbs (or more if you're serving a horde!) sweet potatoes, peeled and steamed (once you've steamed them, measure out how many cups they make as all of the rest of the ingredients are proportional to the sweets)
*Butter-1 tsp per cup of sweets (CoS)
*Brown sugar-1 Tbs per CoS
*Orange rind-.5 tsp per CoS
*Lemon rind-.5 tsp per CoS
*Orange juice-3 Tbs per CoS
*Salt-.5 tsp per CoS
*Ground ginger-.5 tsp per CoS
*Sweet paprika

Mash up sweet potatoes. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Put in disposable baking pan and sprinkle top with paprika. Cover and bake for 25 min. at 375F; remove foil to brown top before serving. In addition, if you want it to be totally vegan, just substitute soy butter for cow's butter and you're good to go.

This recipe is dead easy and I like it because it is not overly sweet like so many yam/sweet potato recipes served at this time of year.

Tree Divination Incense

The incense was loosely based on one of Cunningham's divination recipes, but with a lot of modifications for the smell and ingredients and effects. I've been working on this blend since starting to paint my Tarot of Trees deck, so about a year now.

The recipe:

1 part frankincense (powder it up with mortar and pestle--I find a circular motion works well for frankincense)
1 part sandalwood (red, powdered -buy it powdered cause its very hard to get that fine otherwise)
1 part cinnamon (powdered)
a few drops sweet orange essential oil - as much as you want. I usually add about 1 drop per teaspoon of incense
1 part crushed jumper berries (crush them up with your mortar and pestle)
1/2 part lemongrass (ground finely)
1/2 part yarrow (ground finely)

Smells great and works well. I've used it with my Tree tarot and also with the ogham to great effect.
