from Malkin the Muse

Yours

Yours is the earth, safe, solid and sure,
Yours is the stream, cool, sparkling and pure.
Yours is the mountain, the brook and the bower,
Yours is the glade and the wood and the flower.
Yours is the road where wanderers tread,
Yours is the cairn, solemn place of the dead.
Yours is the Grove where the ancestors dwell,
Yours is the sacred and all-healing well.
Yours is the ocean whose fathoms run deep,
Yours is the nightingale that sings you to sleep.
Yours are the stars that shine from above,
Yours are the gifts of wisdom, beauty and love.
Yours is the eagle that soars upon high,
Yours are the clouds, the rain and the sky.
Yours is the comforting darkness of night,
Yours is the dawn and the return of the light.
Yours is the Moon, the pale face of beauty,
Yours is the Warrior who stands firm in his duty.
Yours are the noble Celt kings of Old,
Yours is the chest overflowing with gold.
Yours is the mighty swell of the ocean,
Yours are the planets in heavenly motion.
Yours is the gentle sigh of the breeze,
Yours is the Ogham, ancient Lore of the Trees.
Yours is the passion of the bellowing stag,
Yours is the decrepit and all-knowing Hag.
No wealth do I own, my possessions are few,
So these are the gift I bestow upon you.

MAY'S EVE

The gifts, they come, held by those donning robes and brought with the intentions as their bringer's blessed them, so to make strong the potency of what's to come...

Mighty Oaks, Elms, and Weeping Willows, sigh gently whispering their life's breath to the stream;

Come! Behold the ancient rites brought forth by the God and Goddess children; For our love to endure its infinite ascension among these creatures!

Two legged, four legged, winged and water-born. Those in the otherworld through the veil prepare to lend their blessings and gratuities while the rituals are given to the Earth and her Inhabitants on this May's Eve.

Crackling and heat energy devise ways to make this balefire grow until it touches the stars in this moonlit forest,

While the night birds gaze wide-eyed in anticipation and the wild four leggeds seek out a hidden place to prey eyes upon this glorious eve's conveyance to the Mother and Father All

Now they murmur, dream stated, taking their place in a circle form in the tree's grove; the grove having seen many a magical impact of blessings stamped into it's forest bed

The murmurs grow, chant now, chanting, chanting,
Hands held throughout their circle tingle, and flow with magic-love
Whilst their speaker states blessings, peace, intentions to the Forest's ears,
And to the All Mother and All Father

Bright blue, purple, green and white energy magic bursts forth, surrounding the folk: person, animal, fae and tree alike

Filling each with the love and energy; in its purest

Silence around the balefire now, eyes stare, heads turn, noses sniff the wind cautiously and trees rustle gently

Old and Strong, still prevailing when sought out

The ancient ritual Beltaine, when all come together, energies intent, to become this magic found on May's Eve.
