Maitrank

Choose a dry white wine for the « Maitrank »
Per litre, add:
• 15 sprigs of woodruff (galium odoratum)
• 12 lumps of brown sugarmorceaux de sucre
• ½ orange, cut in quarters
• a small piece of cinnamon
• a small glass of brandy (or Cointreau if you like it sweeter !)

Leave the woodruff in the wine for 24 to 48 hours in a cool, dark place. Serve cooled! Can be kept in bottles for several months!! Enjoy !!!

The sounds of the winds in the elms
like the strings of a harp being played,
the note of the blackbird that claps
with the wings of delight in the glade.

Rose Water

This rose water can be used to cook with, to add to the bath, to add to homemade cleaning solutions, and as part of spellwork. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
Petals from one dozen roses (stripped from the roses, and with the white tip removed: I learned the hard way that not removing this white part will make the rose water extremely bitter)
1 pint water

Gently simmer the petals in the water for about 10 minutes. Skim the petals out, and then strain the rose water. If you wish, you can then pour the rose water into a canning jar and process it in a hot water bath for 15 minutes.
