You might call it midsummer. To us it is barkfall, when the gum trees get naked in the heat, creating cracked heat paved patterns in the process:

The calm before the storm.
The beautiful Cork coastline is barely visible in the distance
This photo was taken on the look out above Waterville, Co Kerry, Ireland in September 2011.
An hour or so later it made landfall bring with severe winds with it.
