I made this to represent Brighid in my altar, her being my Bardic muse. Since my ability to draw a human figure is quite limited I instead chose the Triskele symbol to represent Brighid, being a "triple-goddess". On a green background, I used three metallic colors to represent each of her three domains: gold (associated with the Sun*) for healing, copper (associated with Venus) for the arts, and bronze (associated with Mars) for smithing.

* I've drawn the associations from Hermetic magic which I've grown comfortable working with.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO US ALL! :)

BLODEUWEDD
Oil on canvas.

''We will seek, I and thou, by charms and illusion, to form a wife for him out of flowers. He has now come to man's stature, and he is the comeliest youth that was ever beheld. So they took the blossoms of the oak, and the blossoms of the broom, and the blossoms of the meadow sweet, and produced from them a maiden, the fairest and most graceful that man ever saw. And they gave her the name of Blodeuwedd'

'Contested Ground 1: Clearance House' - pyrography onto sycamore.

This is from a series of images which have emerged as a result of my investigations into ancestral dwelling places, particularly looking at places in which displacement, personal or cultural, has occurred.
