Springs first breath

The world is changing now
I feel it as I walk life’s journey
I see it in the trees, hear it on the wind
Watch as the sun conducts its glorious symphony
Natures dynamic orchestra playing the music of life

I notice the infant buds, opening before me
Allowing their energies to escape into fantasy’s cradle
I watch the first flowers singing their invisible melody
Swaying to breezes, dancing to sunbeams

I see the excitement, watch as the sky turns cyan
Whisper to the clouds as they pass by on winds of laughter
I hear the chant of butterflies, cascading through radiance
Notice streams of silver refracting lunar purity

I feel the world awakening, sense the start of wonder
Hear the sounds of creation echoing from Awens heart
Spring is in the sunbeams, on every glistening raindrop.
Spring is in my every breath and spring is in my soul

:D

raven eating oranges

an articulate claw, an attentive eye,
busy with some deep business to do
with the breaking into of shells
to the irresistible treasure underneath...

there's a soft laughter in the shaking out
of hackles, cherished secrets warmed with darkness
perfume these rich findings in this busy-season blooming,
all-welcoming is this gathering-in of wealth.

richly enjoying the plunder, loving the gratification,
old white-eye never doubts the utter reasonableness
of getting enough - enough of what is well
worth the seeking, the danger, the breaking in.

This composed itself this morning as I was bringing my horse herd in.

Herd Leader

Suspended
by the fork of my legs
Above ice
and iron hard ground
Upon my mirror-horse

Epona lends courage
To trust you-me
And offers wisdom
When to ride
and when to walk beside
When to tell
when best to listen

You are careful
with ourselves today
Another lesson

The Nolan

‘The only place where I can range freely is the countryside of memory. The only court to which I can appeal is the forum of my own conscience’ Giordano Bruno, Dominican monk burnt at the stake in 1600.

Oh, poor Nolan, hear my plea
as fingers of flame lick and burn
the edges of your memories
where words stab you from behind
handled by your own kind

I ask you to recant, brother Nolan
Not for the church, or self
but for those of us who remain
transfixed by your life’s work
where truth without Him exists

On the subject of Him, brother
you and I would have disagreed
His words having lived in you well
having sown themselves so naturally
into the tapestry of your life that

even now,
as your face peels away
your naked flesh purged
of your life’s misdoings
He is the taste of spent ash
you can no longer swallow
in a world unable to see
Peace to all living spirits...

Goddess (sonnet)

There is a woman, dark, and filled with power
Who leans against the archway of my mind
And wills me to acknowledge her this hour.
She haunts my sense of self. I often find
Her watching, mockingly through eyes of those
Who walk of a path of psychic certainty.
She has no time to hear about my woes,
Demanding strength. She wants tenacity.
There have been times she’s made me cringe in fear
When I believed too much in being meek
And she would laugh derisively to hear
Such passive words as “turn the other cheek”.

That cheek I’ll turn as equal, nothing less,
For her to kiss with moonlight‘s dark caress.

During the last two years there were a lot of news items on sexual abuse of children. thinking about this, I wrote the following:

THE CHILDREN'S VOICE

You have done the wrong and committed the crimes
You took advantage of us but never took our side
You put us down and stole our souls and our lives
Like vampires sucked up our power and our light
And you soiled and dimmed what you couldn't take
We were taught well, broken and bound, slaves from birth
And today we are still bowing before you and handing over
Our strength, still nodding consent, still holding off
Keeping silent, we are finishing your work
But
You have never truly known us
Even a beaten dog has teeth
In giving us nightmares you have given us weapons
Imagine we came to disturb your little peace
We dragged the hidden corpses from your basement
Whispered your deep desires to the masses
Or shouted your well-kept secrets from the mountain
When your foundations begin to shake and crumble, know
We are coming, your demons in our wake
You have to be realistic after all. - Logen Ninefingers

The space between

In the space between
notes lies the music
amid the unseen,
the metaphysic

naked non-being
become receptive
ever awaiting
in the creative

nurture awareness
peaceful potential
elegant stillness
simply eternal

unanswered questions
where truths abide
in the reflections
mysteries reside

daunting nothingness
demeanor turning
toward the abyss
and mystic yearning

live in the moment
no longer temporal
when fully present
in the essential

existence fluid
far hinterland tread
to find the druid
Silence is Sacred
