Wow guys! These are all amazing! Fantastic craftsmanship all-around!

I've always been in awe of folk who can work in metal (forgers and casters). Very tough medium.

Alferian, did you knap the blade of Copper's knife yourself? Having done a little "experimental archaeology" of the sort in my own time I know that 's a true art in itself!

To answer your question Forestmonk, yes, but not completely. I wish I could have turned each piece myself. But alas, I have no space for a lathe (someday maybe!). The pieces were cut and shaped from longer pre-turned decorative dowels.

Well done to everyone!

Tiling Project -- Entry

Postby Robb Hawklord » 07 Apr 2005, 05:20

Entry - Tiling Project

Image

This took 3 weeks to tile as we could only put up 2 or 3 tiles per hour as they were that heavy and big the kept slipping.

Earrings -- ENTRY!!

Postby wolfsong » 13 Apr 2005, 17:26

Okay, I'm officially moving this away from the direction of manly things like metal-working and into girlie things like jewelry (gods know I would LOVE to work with metal ... ).

Image

I made these for a friend for her Prom. I actually finished a couple days ago and she hasn't seen them yet. They're made of white-ish star-shaped sequins, and when they're dangling free they look like snowflakes ... I'm not sure how much that shows in this picture.

OK, that's it! Next competition we'll have separate categories for manly crafts and girly crafts! :)

Nice work, wolfsong, very pretty!
