Oaks and Chestnuts not being planted at the Olympic site

Postby merryb » 31 Dec 2010, 20:22

Disease such as canker in Chestnut trees and the Oak processionary moth has already meant that oaks have been removed from the planting plans at the 2012 Olympic site. And many local authorities may be reluctant to plant either tree.

I don't know much about the diseases but surely there are solutions to both diseases. It would be sad if these splendid trees were no longer being renewed in our urban parks.

With blessings and hope
