Are you Planting a Grove in NW England?

Postby mark the compost elf » 30 May 2012, 13:09

Hello all,

just a quick note to say that i have a goodly number of tree saplings, varying species, that can be free to a good home. So if you have some land you want to plant up as a grove, or just fancy a nice tree in the garden, get in touch by messaging me - i'll be able to give you names, numbers and care instructions for the saplings.

As I do talks on tree folklore, dryads etc so i usually have a collection of different saplings that i give out for free at these talks. Suddenly, about four weeks ago, a thought sluggishly worked it's way to the surface; ' why not offer the trees to fellow OBODies too?'

So, i have finally logged on to post the message up.

I live in the Wigan area, so if you can make it there, or we can arrange a meeting point that is mutually beneficla to us both, then i am more than happy to spread the seedlings. nAlso travel quite a lot with work, so get in touch if you are out of the area and if i am heading through your area in the near future then i'll see what can be done :)

Im not so much planting a Grove as i seem to have one out back ,,I am planting all sorts of nuts ,, i'm collecting walnuts and hickory and buckeyes this fall and i'm going to scuff them a bit and layer them in buckets with leaves and loom and sand to winter-over naturally,,if any sprout ill plant them along the top of my banking,,if I get more than 3 or 4 of each I work with a friend that has a camp in the mountains where he would like to plant some for future seeds on his 40 acres
Through my eyes you still see,, Through my heart you still live ,, For as long as i have breath you will sing,,Thanks Mom
