The sandman
Is human existence inherent?
It makes no sense to me to consider life [and mind] as material, rather that it is like the ancient notion of the sandman. Like yeast is alive when you add water and dead when its dried, all life [the objects of] is essentially dead! It just so happens that there is something out there experiencing the whole thing, what we think we are is that experiencer and not the material form. ‘Life’ [the experiencer] is almost like a parasite in this context or at least I found it easier to understand as like that, I think mind has an effect on evolution and so life [the experiencer] as well as chemical reactions to environment are both parts of the overall equation.
If we imagine life as having humble beginnings we could then imagine it as wanting to grow and become evermore dextrous, so something like ‘human’ would be inevitable. Perhaps there are other shaped objects which could build complex machines and do all and possibly more than humans can, though I struggle to see what that would be ~ a land octopus or something. Either way ‘human’ is part of a group of dextrous objects which would eventually be reached.
On the other hand if the sandman is universal it is probably more likely that it is trying to get to what it knows it can become, in this case ‘human’ would be such a desired outcome. Maybe in the great scheme of things such knowledge is innate but hidden as like the universe must know the future [all-time] but denies this knowledge to itself.
Perhaps it is more like the sandman creates the environment for its own existence, hence universe and evolution etc. you probably get sand-god sand cat etc and the whole thing can be seen as the process of things becoming themselves.
