Just revisited this thread.

I don't think it's appropriate to refer back to how things may have been to establish how they might be now. There are greater specialisms and knowledge around healthcare and well being that didn't exist in the same way. If we were to suggest that as Druids Today we should be "healers" in the "olde worlde" medical profession I think we would be heading into a world of problems - litigation being a minor aspect!

Within my Scouting positions, I was required to undertake a First Aid course regularly to update my knowledge - it was made clear that all I could possibly know would be enough for first response until a qualified person arrived on scene. Consequently, I read with interest how herbs and plants could assist with healing - but it was not something I was interested in pursuing. However, the study of the mind and healthy practices such as Tai Chi ARE of interest and I have pursued them.

Enjoy this life. It would be a shame if we looked forward to the next, only to find we forgot the one before.
