Awen through channeling

Postby ShadowCat » 09 Mar 2013, 10:44

While on a meandering online stroll I found information and video's on a guy that channels Bashar. He himselfs considers it to be a being from another dimension/planet/space&time, but is very analytical and also open to the idea that it's just another part of himself, expressing himself in that way. The describtion he gives on channeling reminds me of the way Awen is sometimes represented: see thisinterview on youtube

I had some great laughs watching this whole vid, and some great moments of recognition. I feel that what he's doing is just another variation of tuning in, of getting inspired, of reaching awen. I would like to hear your ideas on this...

Note: I'm not a channeling-fan persé, yet the way he describes it as "I have information that might help other people, and it's more relevant what the information does, than discussing where it comes from" appeals to me. This approach makes it more palatable to my sceptical nature.

Well.........there's a bit of the skeptic in me. I feel the same way about Hicks and Abraham.

Although a sceptic, too, to some extent, I love the statement about "what it says is more important than where it comes from." I have had "visions" or felt that my writing was "channeling" ... something and that's exactly how I feel about it.

The whole channeling-business always makes me a bit uncomfortable and I usually avoid it. There are a lot of nutty fruitcakes around (as there are anywhere, I'm sure). Yet I really enjoyed this video and imagined that even if he is just staging the whole thing, he's doing a lot of good and obviously having a blast doing it. Even that would be an inspired act.

Kris, when you speak of visions and writing while there's something pouring not only from your mind, but through your mind, that sounds a lot like the awen-descriptions around... so would you agree that there is a sameness, a similarity, between this guys "channeling" and finding awen?

Stephen, I had to google "Hicks and Abraham" :D It strikes me more as in the division of "wishfull thinking", "affirmations" and "the secret". Is that impression correct?

A local marketsalesman here always sells his bananas for low prices while shouting: "don't ask me how, just enjoy it now". Somehow that sentence pops in to my mind in relationship to this discussion.
