Wow they are stunning.
Thought you might like to see my indoors effort. The floor is tiny grouted quarry tiles, the walls paper-mache and the stairs were a total headache! lol. Didn't realise that going around a corner with them would be so difficult!
The accessories are bought - well most of them -

wow :applause: :applause: :applause:
i'm inspired. i've done dolls' houses and fairy shrines sporadically since i was five years old, and i've just started to build them in earnest again. yesterday i made floor tiles for a round-house for Ceridwen. we've got good clay for firing in my fireplace and good adobe for mudbricks. i'm going to weatherproof them for outdoors. not sure about the roof yet, but tiles or shingles. it will be about a foot high.

i made about forty mud-bricks last night, and a few little pottery dishes and a cup and jug (no handles yet) but my camera's batteries are flat so i can't photograph them till tomorrow. i adore the little touches on your wall, such sweet little things. i might borrow some of your ideas!! :D

here're my adobe bricks and floor tiles. the tiles are about an inch across and will be set into a grey or yellow ochre mortar (haven't decided yet) and the bricks are
an inch and a half by about three quarters of an inch. the tiles will be varnished, and the brick walls mortared and rendered with adobe, and then sealed with a weatherproof sealant outside and painted with an egg-tempera inside. i can only work for a few minutes at a time, but it keeps calling me back, so it's getting done! :)

here's the floor nearly finished - with an offering for the miniature ceridwen. the roots are from a weed we have growing in the paddocks, the pea-like pods in the bowl (which hasn't been fired yet) are the immature pods that form behind carob flowers, and the long bean-like pods are from mustard plants. the floor still needs pointing up and the bricks are only stacked. i did the floor while listening to damh the bard. it felt like the right kind of magic. :cloud9:

Not much of a fairy person, but wow! :o They are sooo adorable! Must take you forever to do each piece!

"Presence is needed to become aware of the beauty, the majesty, the sacredness of nature. Have you ever gazed up into the infinity of space on a clear night, awestruck by the absolute stillness and inconceivable lastness of it? Have you ever listened, truly listened, to the sound of a mountain stream in the forest?...To become aware of such things, the mind needs to be still. You have to put down for a moment your personal baggage of problems, of past and future, as well as your knowledge; otherwise you will see but not see, hear but not hear." ~ Voices of the Earth, by Clea Danaan.
