This forum is dedicated to the quest of our common humanity, especially in the exploration of the underlying commonalities of the human condition, the similarities between faith systems and philosophies, and the Druidic search for all that unifies rather than divides. This is a public forum, viewable by guests as well as members, and is cataloged by most search engines.

The term "Common Quest" does not mean that ultimately there is one faith system, or one lowest common denominator. It means that we are all trying to do the same thing: find the meaning of our existence in this common humanity that we share.

Hi,
What do you do in your groves? - Do you sit & heal - ? Do you meet guides & learn - ?

I mean mental groves. I have a book called "The path through the Forest, a druid guidebook" which has a journey / meditation where you imagine walking up a path & into your grove / forest where you will /can meet an animal guide or teacher. Beyond that info it say not what you can get up to. I'm interested in others ideas & info - ?

So far I've used my inner grove to learn meditational skills and meet inner guides, though at times I feel compelled to 'garden' and tend to the place.

Hiya, Underwood.

How about you give it a try and see what happens? What I find there and what you find there may be very different.

ah ha ;) my response would be different depending on the grove your referring to :) I"ve not built an "inner grove" persay. sure my mental plane, which some refer to as an astral temple is very much mostly a forest. In my mental plane I would visit often in my youth for relaxation and reflection, "journeying inward". I don't do so as often as I use to, but I still do from time to time.

Hi,

Thank you for your messages. I have tried it several times so far & not really experienced much, no guides as yet, so I''m Interested in others experience - I'm sure they will be different to mine or may not, either way, if they're willing to share, I'm willing to hear. - The tending to the garden sounds sweet :D ThKs

It is often a practice that by mentally putting yourself through something you will have physical manifestations reflecting from this. For example I often practice my martial arts forms in my head and it helps with my muscle memory. though many will argue that since I'm not really moving my muscles...either way I know the form better and move better through it by mentally going through it.

I have found also if you want to do a ritual or spell doing so in your mind can be effective. it's away of exercising, rehearsing and raising energies. enjoy :D

Thank you - that sounds interesting & it makes since to practice visualisation on something you want to understand & learn better. I have heard it that Olympic athletes practice in their heads running a race or whatever. It's meant to be v. Powerful - so makes sense :hiya:

I usually start off with a specific goal of either learning or Working but more often than not I wind up just BEING and feeling the connection with all things. There's such peaceful joy there and a feeling of rightness. So I would have to say that I go there for the healing and relaxation and even some adoration. I will say that I have had my own inner grove for quite some time but since (re!)discovering Druidry my sense of it has flourished quite nicely.
