Alphabetical listing for forums?

Postby Donata » 30 Jun 2005, 04:57

Is it possible to list the forums within each section in alphabetical order? This would make it easier to find a particular forum. I'm probably not the only reader who skips over some forums to go to favorite topics.

Just a thot

Yes, it is possible, although it is a fair bit of work. But it's not something I would really want to do even if it were easy. As it is now, the forums are in the arrangement they're in for two reasons: one is because of relationships, i.e., Celtic Studies and Mythology and Lore are adjacent because they are related. Same thing for Discuss Druidry and Druid Living and for Greening Gaia and Pets and Wildlife. The other is that the more popular forums are at the top.

Here's what we'd have if we alphabetized the public section of the board:
The Attic
Au Coin du Feu
Celtic Studies
The Common Quest
Current Events
Discuss Druidry
Druid Craft
Druid Living
Greening Gaia
Health and Healing
Mythology and Lore
Pets and Wildlife
The Pub
The Reading Room
The Shamanic Druid
The Skeptical Druid

And I just don't think this is a good idea. It buries the Pub, which is the general welcoming forum, pretty far down the list, and puts our archives and the French forum as the first thing newcomers will notice.

We've made a lot of changes to the board recently; let's let things settle awhile before we consider doing anything more.

I agree Selene - and I withdraw my question.
