Rituals and Prayers

Postby Dair Ciúin » 14 Sep 2005, 08:27

Greetings,

Which forum is best for sharing and developing prayers/rituals of our own design? I have noticed that there is a specific category for these in the Eisteddfod competition, but no clear indication of which forums can be used for rituals in a more constructive, non-competitive manner.

Thanks,
Dair Ciúin

I think it would be the Druidcraft forum?

I wondered about the DruidCraft forum, though I've never really seen many prayers/rituals shared in there, so I thought I should just check first. I was also unsure whether the Creative Pursuits forums would be more appropriate.

Greetings!

I think that prayers and especially rituals are a bit under-represented on our boards, therefore it is a good idea to pay more attention to this aspect of Druidry.

In my understanding the DruidCraft forum is mostly for the discussion of the DruidCraft book and tarot and the interconnections and differences between Druidry and Wicca. It is not the place where I would post a Druidic prayer or ritual.

I'd also say "Discuss Druidry". In case that the prayer or ritual reflects something you came across during the OBOD course, the grade forums would also present an option.

I agree with you, Eilthireach.

I would really like to see more concepts regarding rituals and prayers shared throughout this board, with a greater emphasis placed on creativity. Personally, I feel that a ritual which I have created myself and know from memory is far more meaningful than simply reciting the work of somebody else.

I'm currently making some final touches to a Celtic devotional rite. Since it doesn't include any specific aspects of OBOD rituals, I will post it in Discuss Druidry once it is complete, hopefully so I can get some feedback and suggestions.

Thanks for the advice, everybody!
