Addon: Knowledge base

Postby Lily » 10 Dec 2005, 20:49

a german php board I frequent now has a Knowledge base. This could be used to answer questions that are asked over and over on these boards.

there's bound to be a downloadable hack somewhere, or it's part of a newer release.

Question is who would feed it.

Yay I'd get to choose what the noobs get to read??? erm. I did it for a company once. Perhaps it could be a moderators' privilege - my mod job is not really taxing ;)

we could scour old posts for good info and credit the authors.

Sounds like a good idea to me - I could happily do this at times. I think a project worthy of druids :) Happy to offer myself as a volunteer to help out in any way.

I think it's a good idea... but who's point of view will this knowledge be from? Will it reflect different opinions, or just the author's? Will it be accurate?

Hehehe 'accurate'? We are talking about druidry here. I would imagine we will just upload the threads relevent. So when someone asks, for example - what is druidry....it points to the thread/s where we - the good people of this message board - discuss this topic.

you have to write a new article, so to speak. To quote posts and original authors, I guess you can use all the bbcode you can use in postings, like here:
