I am familiar with Chronicles, Eos and Fi. All of these use non-standard coding which makes them very hard to modify. Not impossible, just very time consuming, at least for me.

They need to be compatible with certain mods: Subforums, upload picture, multivote...

I will check the others you mentioned.

I have another board on which I can install the mods into styles and will do as soon as we get a list people like.

What I would really like to see is a style, based on subsilver, which is The OBOD Style, based in part on the Home page theme with appropriate Celtic and Druidic icons, buttons etc.

Thanks for the response guys ... didn't really expect to you to jump up and put all those into place, kernos ... it's an interesting place to browse through, and amazing how they can affect your mood ... some I found downright ugly, others were almost sublime.

I will check out arborday and see what it's like. I seem to remember it being one I liked.

I have added Chronicles back to the styles choices. I think it works, though I have some graphics to make for it yet.

Please, those who like it put it through its paces and confirm that everything works.

Not all admin and mod functions are installed, so this is not a good style for admins and mods.

OH YAY!!!! I got Chronicles back!! (doesn't take much to make me happy  :grin: )    It was the one I used to use before all the changes were made & I was sorry to see it gone when I came back again, I just love the old feel of it.  Thanks Kernos, I'll let you know if there are any problems with it.  I agree that it would be really cool to have the Celtic & Druidic lettering, that would be just perfect!  Hope someone can work that out.

Thanks, Kernos, I'm busy putting it through it's paces as we speak. Quite handsome, but I have one paticular critique - though I've no idea if it's anything you can change.

The "cream" color of the links works very well against the wood veneer background, but against the other, lighterbrown of the table cells with the main content of forums and posts, there's not enough contrast. (also the same color in the quoted text - it's just too light).

The darker brown, chocolately color of the names of the forums, though, does look fine in these areas, and I'd suggest, if it's possible to change the link and quoted text colors within these ligher areas to that chocolaty color whilst leaving the cream color for the links against the wood panelling.

Also, as far as the graphic at the top is concerned, I'll give it some thought .... Does it have to be any particular size?

Is there any way to get the "raw" button graphic (i.e. without text on it) and the font used for the button text? I can't promise anything, but I could try and have a look at it.

I have the graphics we used to use with Chronicles somewhere - it is just a matter of finding it. We want to use the Druid's head plus text as on subSilver.

All of the colors can be tweaked, easily as they are in a style sheet. I agree with you. In the old, old board we used Chronicles raw and it was the 2nd most popular style.

I am working on the 3rd most popular - LOTR now.

Some styles include PSDs with text in layers. So, possibly if you want to start with current style. I was thinking of making buttons from scratch, totally different from anything out there.

Hm, I thought you wanted the graphics used on the druidry.org home page also used in the OBOD board style. I don't know who designed the web site and if the raw material is still available somewhere, it could be helpful.

However, if you want to create a look and buttons, I can create the actual style.

Duh you are correct. I have the graphics. I am going to attempt modifying the mod-ed subSilver style to create a new template.

I need to figure out what font was used.

Just found a glitch in the Chronicles style, the "Upload picture" doesn't work.  It brings up the browse menu, but after you have selected the picture nothing happens, it doesn't show up in the 'browse' space in order to upload.  I tried a different style just now to see if it would work & it does., well, at least for subsilver which is what I am using now.

I am working on another iteration of the board which will require ages, but allow for individuals to hide their age from all but administrators. It will also include gender which need not be specified and the zodiac symbol. I hope to be using this within a couple of weeks. The picture upload will work in this (unless I break it)

Well, it would be nice if it worked but it's certainly not the end of the world.  Although, it really is a nice feature, especially for us 'show n tell' kinda folks!  :)
