Signature Limitations

I've just noticed some new text beside the signature box in my profile options:

A signature is a little text that can be added at the bottom of your posts. It's limited to 1000 characters (size 8 to 14) on 6 line(s) and 5 image(s) with none larger than 80x80 pixels and for a maximum of 80Kb. In your text, no more than 100 characters without space too.

Now, I'm not one to complain - but I think the 80x80 pixel limitation would exclude pretty much anything other than small icons and member's logos. Heck, I can't even add the wee .gif file I use to 'sign' my name! Any chance of getting this increased a bit?

I'm checking into this, DC. I thought it was larger, too. How big do you need?

We just installed this and need to work with it. The main thing is to prevent people from putting huge images in their sigs.

At some point in the near future, I think we should give a warning, a weeks notice to all that we are going to reset the signature. The will delete all and allow people to grab the images, copy and paste the text etc, so all is not lost.

Then we should reset the sigs.

I would suggest a maximum size of 100 x 200-300 for an image.

BTW, DC, was you image of you signature deleted by the board or did you do that. I did not think this mod would change existing signatures at all.

Thanks, Kernos. A maximum size of 200 (wide) x 100 (high) would suit me fine.

For some reason, both my avatar and signature were missing when I logged into the board yesterday.
