New Section for Judicial Review?

Postby Sequoiarealm » 26 Oct 2006, 02:59

Maybe there could be a section or subsection for Judicial review? People could discuss the rights and wrongs of various ongoing cases in the media, international happenings, various new laws in their respected countries or communities or types of governance. We have wonderful forums for magical arts, poetry, healing, conservation. What of the Druid's role as to judging moral issues? It wouldn't have to be done with a poster having a legal background necessarily just a Druidic sense of wisdom, the good of all and justice. Maybe there could be a subset to study into historic legal roots.

I agree with Guardian that it is a topic that should be addressed in CE. However, there may be a case for a sub-forum under CE that specifically addresses key court cases and the like.

Not trying to make the work of mods any harder, I know you each have your hands full. (And do well in my opinion) Current events is pretty broad though and maybe we could look at a sub-forum just to round out our Druidry and our shared wisdom

I think that's an interesting suggestion, Sequoiarealm.  I presume you are referring to a type of debate where you have 2 sides - pro or con?

The trouble with the CE forum is that because it covers such a wide area of topics within it, when one gets particularly heated then all the other equally interesting topics are overshadowed.

Maybe not a debate (or I guess it could be that too) but a means to have a "meeting of druids" to discuss the rightness or wrongness of say HR6166. I imagine druids entering a council (in days of old) and going into discussions and then rendering a decision much like a court with a panel of judges, and thought it might be interesting to incorporate here. Im also sure that with some of the historians in the group we could learn a lot about the "laws of the Celts".
