Make suggestions about the organization of this Board.

Hi Araneae,

have you already seen the Music,Arts & Crafts, Visual Arts, Photography, Current events forum pages as well as "the pub"? I think that what you seek may already be well covered there! You're free to discuss books, movies etc that are not related to druidry in any forum. Probably the majority of posts on the board are not in relations to druidry at all.

best wishes

I suppose that the Pub has been used as the "catch all" for the discussions to which you refer, Araneae.
The Pub: A forum for casual conversation, fun and games, affection and friendly repartee. Please introduce yourself and receive a hearty welcome!
There may be discussion in the other forums, such as:
Poetry and Writing Forum: Our Eisteddfod - post poems or link to images or multimedia files, offer critiques and experience. Share your knowledge of poetry, and learn poetry skills.
Music Forum: Discuss music and musical instruments and lore, offer your musical efforts for promotion, critique and listening.
But maybe that is not as clear as it should be. It is something to think about for sure.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Arareae,

When we established the reading room it was initially to be a source reference for druidic-related material. But as you will see there are a wide variety of topics in there apart from druidry and you can certainly I'm sure post on other books not in that area. Likewise the pub which is a general discussion forum for anything and everything and not at all "druidry" bound.

Similarly the music forum (general as well as classical), arts and crafts, visual multimedia, greening gaia, health and healing etc etc have absolutely no conditions on them whatsoever.

In fact the even the forum that one would think as being more specific to druidry ~ such as "Discuss druidry" actually doesn't discuss it that much at all. Celtic studies and mythology are similarly not restricted to druidry but complement the topic as they are related to it from academic perspectives.

So I think there are plenty of outlets for dicussion off topic. I'm not negating your thought, just saying that there are already fora where the things you describe as off topic are frequently discussed. Music for example stretches from Mozart to Digeridoos.  Films are often discussed in the pub and books of all sorts are discussed in the reading room and believe me, most of those have nothing to do with druidry at all. So I'd just apply common sense here and post away.

If you feel a more particular forum is missing from what's already available, then indeed inform the moderators and they will adjudicate if necessary. Otherwise I think you are pretty free to discuss anything on this board - druidry related or not.

rgds,

Hi Araneae

I get where you are coming from. Recently, I went to the "Once In A Lifetime" Country and Western concert at Wembley Arena. I wanted to share this wonderful experience with everyone here but did not know where to put it. It wasn't Druidry related but I want to tell everyone how brilliant it was to hear Rita Coolidge, Don Williams and Kenny Rogers sing their classics.  :cloud9:

So, Mods, where should I have gone?

Blessings

Saiorse, I would say that the post would be welcome in the pub or in the music forum as both can be used for discussion of music. The pub might have more views and possibly more responses.
