I was just wondering if anyone had given thought to a [personalized text] area in your profile, which a member could update and which would show up in their mini-profile.
If not, that's cool... I understand that there could be potential abuse of a feature like that, but there is also the benefit of allowing members to express themselves.
For example, if I wanted to have something that said, "Looking forward to Harry Potter 7" or "Currently writing; Pangari, Ch. 6" or "I love Riverdance" or anything along those lines... It adds a bit of character to the mini-profile and gives a quick look inside a person's interests.
On the Stephen Lawhead forum, I help manage things but I'm also the only guy who does the coding. During the last update, I received the nickname "The Wizard of Oz" because I would log on invisibly and make changes the forum behind the scenes while people were chatting. I thought that was funny, so I made it part of my Personalized Text and used the scrolling text UBBC code.
On the Terry Brooks forum, someone there didn't like my comments and called me a Cheeky Git. I thought the comment rather appropriate, actually, so I made it my personalized text for the last couple of years.
Anyway, that's my suggestion. I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.
