Merlyn,

Would you check something for me please? (I assume IE for XP has a cookie manager - or you will need a 3rd party one)

You should have 2 cookies from http://www.druidry.org named

phpbb2mysql_sid
phpbb2mysql_data

The path should be a slash (/) - please confirm. The 'Secure' column should say no. And tell me when the cookies expire and which time you actually logged in.

OK I'll go dig in the cookie jar :grin:

I set up a new user name to see what will happen, cookie wise.
It is "Earth Wizard".

So far I cannot log on at all with that new name. I'll see if I can figure out why.

Hi Eoin Dubh,
Seems that only on this site is there a problem. I have zero problems with anything else. You might be experiencing troubles due to your IP.
What I am trying to pinpoint is why only this site fails to log in. The Foggy Duck has never had a problem, nor the other board I use that is exactly like this one.
Service pack 1 & 2 do not cause any trouble at all for me.
We checked into the cookie jar and note one is missing for this site only. Now I do notice that this site has been extensively modified and up graded, the foggy duck and the VFR site are not. Could this be the reason?
It all began to cause members of this site trouble, no matter what browser they use, back in the time of the OakWyse denouncement issue. Was anything done at that time, as I remember many things were done?
It is not my computer, it works fne and can be compliant to all issues depending on how it is set. Allowing third party cookies, and in fact all cookies, with the firewall completely down, does not cure the problems of this site's automatic log in.


seems that there is an issue with one of the security patches for XP.

Could it be how the service pack adjusts default settings? If so, why only this board???

Ok, now I have noticed a pattern,
Toggleing beck & forth between this site and the VFR site, I log in automaticly on this site.

Could it be a temp file and not a cookie issue at all??
