Messages stuck in Outbox

Postby Ruadh » 03 Mar 2005, 20:01

Kernos? Selene?

What am I doing wrong? :???:

This has been happening randomly lately....messages get stuck in the Outbox for long periods of time. There is one right now as I write this post that has been stuck there for almost an hour.

Is there something I'm doing that's causing this? Is there anything I can do to get messages to go out quicker?

Thanks for any help you can give,

messages stay in the outbox until the person they are to be delivered to reads them.

Hi Azrienoch,

Thanks for the info. That's something I never noticed happening before...even when the person I was sending it to was not logged on.

Thanks again!

Ruadh,
Unlike e-mail, PMs stay in the Outbox until the recipient opens them. Then they are transferred to the Sent Box. Nothing you can do to speed up how long it takes someone to notice it's there, I'm afraid!

This is also complicated by browsers that block pop-ups; anyone who has not deactivated their pop-up-blocker for this web site is apt to miss PMs because they will not get a notification window to alert the user to the messages' arrival. And, considering the number of PMs that have been in my Outbox for several weeks, not everyone notices the count at the top of each page where it says either, "You have no new messages" or "You have X new messages."

Hope this helps.

Thanks Selene! I appreciate you taking the time to explain how it all works.

Have a great day!
