Interesting, but one season of hot and extreme weather does not prove anything, anymore than last year's cold snowy winter in the NE does.
We are seening less frequent storms here in the Ozarks, but they are more severe than average. Our electricity has gone off more than I can remember this summer. It is worrying, but may just be an end of the bell shaped curve. One worries about the fall hurricane season.
All that said, changes in the environment is becoming much more clear and worrisome. CO2 continues to rise at an accelerated rate, ice is melting more than ant time since records have been kept and the oceans are becoming more and more acid and killing off the bottom of the food chain. We're approaching the levels when millions of years ago 90% of ocean species went extinct due to a rapid decrease in the pH of the oceans.
Scary. What really bothers me is that one have to search for this info. The US TV news rarely mentions global warming, acidification of the oceans etc. All they are interested in are illegal immigrants, politics, crime and an occasional feel-good story. Blah!
