Harps

Postby hugh barugh » 05 Jun 2007, 16:53

After searching every where for a used harp or cheapy!!!! I have finally settled on a Bardic Harp from Morleys..
It is used(cant find a mark on it)fully levered 22 string (nylon)it was not that cheap but it was that or a eastern made harp(India)this one is made in Taiwan.still a lovely harp!!!
I had tried to buy one from Tara harps but after 2 emails got no reply.
As I say trying to get hold of a second hand harp is difficult. With the soft carry bag, electric tuner and starter music =postage and packing you are looking at £500---the harp cost £350 cheapest I could find unless you buy Pakistan made and I kept on being told "dont but Rosewood or Pakistan makes"
SO!!!!!all I have to do is find how to play it !
Anybody in the Durham---Newcastle area who wants to try a 22 string--I am quite happy for them to come and try at least you can get an idea of what you might want just email "pm"
OH yes if you try to buy one from the smaller makers they make fantastic harps but they start from about £700 + they dont do second hand
brightest blessings to all--
get them strings hot !!!!!!!! :old:  :where:
