I play guitar and bass. Master of neither. I have a Yamaha Aes620 Sunburst orange 6 string guitar and a Bcrich Beast Platinum series 4 string bass. I also play a metal barrel as my drum...I found it and was instantly drawn to it. Not too sure why...

I play enough Guitar to accompany myself on a few songs, and to help me with my fledgling songwriting.

I'd love to learn to play the fiddle ... maybe that will be my next Quixotic quest :o

I used to play clarinet and trombone but now am very badly self taut guitar player!
A few months ago my mum was clearing out some boxes and found my dads old harmonica! Its called the bandmaster De Lux Chromatic, but i have named it Lupe! I feel a great connection with the old man when i play. I have been playing it loads. I might start taking it up to my grove and play along to the fire.

Great topic everyone! My primary instrument is my voice, and the piano/keyboard. I've studied vocal, piano, organ, flute, fiddle, and a bit of guitar. In addition to the piano, keyboard, fiddle and guitar, I have a German Gitarr-Zither, bodhran, hand drum, tin whistles, little Indian flute, ocarina, rainstick, and a weird assortment of bells. I'm a collector at heart, but certainly not a master of any of them. Although I have studied many of these instruments at one time or another, I generally slide into non-practice which leads to no longer being able to play.

I play the 5-string Banjo for teh last 20 years, Cajun, irish and Bluegrass fiddle for the last 5. I wanted a bagpipe, but my fiddling friend convinced me a fiddle would get less dogs howling (just those in the houes) :old: Anything from Bluegrass to Irish, a little Cajun mixed in. I like uplifting, joyful music ( unfortunately in Bluegrass the dog has died , or left with the wife - generally bad iwth the good :yay:

I sing... My vocal chords are the only instrument I've learned to use, although I sometimes plunk around on a piano. :)

My first instrument was the practice chanter for the bagpipes....and I eventually learned to play the great highland pipes! I tried the clarinet in elementary school and my father worried because he felt my piping fingers would be ruined! His fears weren't fulfilled...I didn't last with the clarinet...felt no connection with it. My mom then signed me up to learn to play the piano! As a teen I began guitar lessons and so today I still dabble on the pipes, piano and guitar. I don't play them as much as I'd like, though!

I also want to become more proficient at the recorder, penny whistle and bodhran....even the fiddle and the harp! I do love music and like collecting instruments and learning how to play them! And oh yes, I do love to SING, as well!

Well I do sort of play guitar, although I let it go for a long time and miss it now, so may have to take it up again. I was never all that good though. I also love drumming - mostly bongos or djembe, but I feel drawn to the harp and the bodhran as well.

Hey there :D

Ive been playing the piano since i was little, but ive only taken it seriously for the last few years. I have also recently started self teaching myself the flute and the guitar... Im not taking them seriously, but i just love to produce the different sounds. Also, i want to try to learn an exotic instrument, maybe the yangqin, which Lisa Gerrard plays... O yes! And the harp! Im saving up for one, but im afraid it will take a few years as i haven't got a job yet :-(

The trouble with the flute is that it takes a while to get a song to sound really nice. I think its because its focused so much on the mouth shape and you have to get it perfect. <Like him

Lets see, I've been playing piano on and off for 15 years, never got very good, but passable with a little practice. I've been playing guitar for the last 10 years or so, and am working on learning the tin whistle, both of which are much more natural to me then piano. Once I get the whistle under my belt, its on to the harp and probably the bagpipes.

I play guitar.......mostly heavy metal. But I do play classical guitar every once in a while when I dont feel like head banging
I can play a lot of traditional Irish songs on my steel string guitar and classical guitar...infact I made a video...checks it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4gl0gMjRrs

I can also play penny whistle and pan flute, although I am not near as good at them as guitar. There is a very limited amount of things to do with those two instruments in Texas  guitar is much more acceptable here.

I started on Bodhran as well, but I dont think its my thing.

I play the piano, that's my main and favorite instrument; but I also have guitar that I play sometimes. Rigth now the turn is for the flute and different kind of whistles, once I feel I play good enough (or at least as the piano & guitar) the next one will be the Uilleann pipes, I would love to learn them.

Greetings,

My musical instruments are my voice, flute, and autoharp.
I love celtic harps, and may get one at some point.
It's fun and interesting to see what other folks "on the board" are playing...

Blessings to all as we journey towards Alban Eilir,

I vaguely remember playing recorder as a child. However much of my musical experience has involved singing and playing brass instruments. The first brass instrument was the cornet which was played in several bands, moving into orchestras this was alongside trumpets, also playing the tenor horn, baritone, euphoniam and trombone. I have also tinkered with the electric guitar, getting a satellite in my teens, joined by an ibanes. Currently I still have a trumpet and Fender Squire Kantana and although rusty, am keen to get a bit more music back into my life.

I play the violin, guitar and mandolin. Have a nice little family of musical instruments at home of which the big daddy is my beloved Fender acoustic.

I sing too, oratorio (high alto) and can weep my way through irish and celtic songs quite respectably, especially when the black stuff has been flowing :empty: .
