Paintings from the Mabinogion

Postby Broc » 31 Jul 2012, 13:28

I have read some of the topics on this board and am amazed at how many of us artists have been inspired by myths and legends since starting on our bardic path. I have been an artist for many years, normally painting the usual scene's, eg landscapes, local scenes and such but somehow none of my past work has given me so much pleasure and pain as the work I am doing now. My last two paintings have been stories from the Mabinogion, Which I must say was no easy task and at times I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew, so to speak. The first one is called " Bloddeuwedd's Curse" The second in the series that I have just finished is " Gwion Bach's Awakening" If you would like to see more of my work, you will find it on my blog. angela-samson.blogspot.com

Hi Heulwen, crossed post!
Thanks for posting, wow I really like this, you can feel her agony and the environment you have placed her in is just right.

Thank you so much for your positive comments. It is very hard for an artist to see their own work objectively. We live with our artwork so long that we become blind to its faults so new eyes see what we have missed.
