Cat Sores?

Postby treegod » 31 Oct 2011, 12:25

There're some strange orange sores/bacteria/fungus type things growing in various places around my cats body but I don't know what it is. I've never seen anything like it on a cat.

Healthw-wise she's acting quite normally for a cat and she's showing no other symptoms, she's not even losing any fur. It's just these little orange things on her body, like cold sores but orange.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, treegod,

I've never heard of anything like that, but it sounds as if she ought to be seen by a veterinarian right away. In our part of the world, a pathogenic fungal infection (if that's what it is, and from your description it sounds possible) would be considered serious; in any case, if she has multiple sores--regardless of cause--I'd advise getting her checked to find out what's going on and to get them treated. Whether the current infection is causing any problems or not, if there are open lesions, there's always the possiblity of secondary infections that could be more serious.

Blessings and good luck,
Selene
