Animals and Dreams

I've had two animals pop up in my dreams recently; the Eagle and the Serpent. I really don't recall much about that. Only that the Eagle gave me a feather and the snakes slithered all over my jacket while I was wearing it. I can't help but feel that these animals showed up for a reason. I looked up some sites about Celtic animals and their meanings but each site said something a little different.

What I did find interesting was that the Eagle, according to one site is associated with the Birch tree, a tree I am currently studying (information found here: http://www.whats-your-sign.com/celtic-a ... mbols.html) . I learned this after the dream. I'm trying to figure out if the spirit of the Birch sent Eagle as a messenger or if Eagle came on its own accord. Or is there even a real connection between the two? Has anyone else come across this information? These are questions that I'll likely find answers to, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to share my thoughts with others.
