The 4X4 Psychic Test

Okay, this is a new psychic test that acts on some of the suggestions made as a result of the first one. Rather than use numbers I am using a theme that is unlikely to cause a selection bias among the posters on this forum: makes of 4X4. One of these was chosen completely at random after the list was drawn up and randomised and I am focussing on the name of the car and NOT what it looks like.

I am going to ask if this thread can be locked, with only the poll still running. In any case please don't post your choice on the thread, just in the poll. Results will be announced when there are 50 guesses.

Ah but any psychic effect should show through should it not? Or are you saying there is no way to test for such abilities as there will always be bias?

In which case if one cannot test for it then it need worry us no further.

What I am saying is that if Mitsubishi, for example had just done a really effective advertising campaign then you might have chosen Mitsubishi and a high percentage of others might have chosen likewise and nobody would realise why. The familiarity bred by the advert would make it more likely to be chosen.

But you might equally argue that pagans are likely to be biased towards the Star and the Circle. The fact remains that any real effect should show itself despite such possible bias. I deliberately chose something (4X4's) that was unlikely to produce a bias among Pagans. And when there are 50 guesses I will reveal which one was chosen entirely at random.

I'd also expect a bias towards items in the middle of the list, or those with more interesting verbose names!
