Today I have, and yesterday I have, and tomorrow I will; learn that I can skew public perceptions, form my own image and disregard stereotypes.

I learned that it is hard to let go of something you have taken care of for years. Including when they are cats. :gloomy:

I learned that if something gives you physical pain it is probably not the wisest thing to pursue it without moderation.
Including when you enjoy it, such as learning (and other things come to mind, too :) )
I am not young enough to know everything. (O.W.)

I have learned today that there is an incredible beauty to watch a child watch the sky eagerly waiting for the rain to start.

I learned today in a book that if you didn't go through chickenpox when you were a kid, you'll have hard time going through it when you are an adult. (I did go through chickenpox when I was 4 or so, phew!)

I went through chickenpox, when I was 20. For me, it wasn't a hard time, but the hospital's company medical officer had a hard time, because, naturally, I've been working there with patients until I detected the disease.

Today I learned that, when you sit down in a forest, huge red ants can try to get into your pants and, when there, naturally will bite you. My bum hurt for at least 30 minutes! But before and afterwards, I haven't seen one red ant, at all!

Last night I learned a bottle of Jager and sometime alone with my step-brother can heal old grudges.

yesterday I learnt how many hidden qualities or talents people have. There is always something new to learn about someone even if you think you know them... you can always get to know them better.

Yesterday I learnt that my pre-teen son really wants me around :yay:
The sounds of the winds in the elms
like the strings of a harp being played,
the note of the blackbird that claps
with the wings of delight in the glade.

I realized that the Forces That Be weave an intricate web for us all...and that what can first seem negative may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

I learned that hot toddies are fabulous for a bad cold when enjoyed in moderation. Head cold + hangover? Not so wonderful. *lol*

It's difficult to balance strong boundaries and sensitivity with robust toddlers, to not let them walk all over you AND not shock or overwhelm them.

Over the last two weeks I have learnt that very few people bother to check both sides of a story, and, in their love for drama, are all too quick to believe whatever a person in a position of leadership might tell them.

I have learnt that I cannot tolerate that sort of behaviour and will, alone, confront the one-sidedness, get the other story and fight for the truth, and win.

I have learnt that that if I invoke the warrior within, that Archetype will manifest in full glory, but that it is better, then, to be a dragon than a hound in order to avoid the damaging fallout of the battle frenzy.

Moira,

I agree. Sittting under a tree or better yet, in a forest is very enlightening. The energy of the trees has a way of re-energizing the soul and cleanes out many of the stresses of life. It is like getting recharged. I can tell if I go very long without visiting my friends. The trees.

I learned how to walk in MBT shoes today. Feels right weird, so it does.

Today I have learned that my doubts are reflected back to me by the people around me. Don't need this insight too frequently, honestly :???:

There are THREE sides to every person/story:

How the person sees themselves/it
How others see them/it
And how they/things REALLY are.

I also learned I don't have to win, I don't have to be right, and I can withdraw. None of these are defeats. They are time well spent in gaining perspective. Perhaps somewhat fustrating for the party keen on an argument, though.

I found out the previous chosen chief of OBOD was Ross Nichols. And I never knew anything about chiefs before. But I guess this does get me some where.
