Greetings everyone. I'm Liz, I'm 52, and since 2009 I've been blessed to live in Pembrokeshire, Wales UK, although I was a Londoner for 30 years before that.
I spent a lot of my childhood in East Anglia living on farms, and in caravan parks, my folks were travellers, working the funfairs, and picking crops, so we moved about a lot back in the 60's.
Didn't get much of an education in formal subjects, my school was the great outdoors.
Although I did go to colleges to learn practical stuff later on in life as a mature student.
I've been Pagan pretty much all my life, following my family tradition of the old ways, grew up absolutely loving nature, especially horses, dogs, birds, hedgehogs, foxes, badgers and bats,
found I love spending time in forests or on beaches, absolutely adore folklore and things like 'Obby Oss, Maypoles, Mummers Plays, Morris Dancers, and all that kind of thing,
grew to love Stonehenge, Avebury and all the sacred sites, my nearest now is Pentre Ifan and Ty Canol woods and I go there whenever I get the chance. I also love the local castles.
I'm VERY into music - can't go a day without it (self taught in keyboards, xylophones & glockenspiels, zither, accordian, various percussion instruments, and I'm learning to play a harp)
I dabble mildly in Poetry and other creative writing, I do a lot of Art & Crafts (made my living making and selling things - mostly beaded embroideries) I love Astronomy, (I've belonged to the Preseli Astronomy Group for about 2 years now and have my own modest telescope) and Dowsing (I hope to join the West Wales Dowsing Society in 2013 having been a visitor now and again over the last couple of months), and reading Tarot (I've been collecting sets for 20 years).
In 1980 I married into a family where Spiritualism, faith healing, psychometry and more Eastern ways were followed, and it took me on a different journey for a while.
I'm very civic-minded, and serve on the local Civic Society management group, I get involved with planning applications to the local authority and all that, trying to protect things from the ravages of over-development, and I'm about to start volunteering for some of their projects like the forming of a new museum in the area, and the restoration of some derelict properties with grant funding which is all very exciting. I might not be of Welsh birth, but I am honoured to be getting more involved in Welsh life!
I also do a lot of work supporting families with special educational children after my own 2 lads were born with problems, and found the service provisions sadly lacking. I served on the boards of charities and other organsiations for a while, now I offer support and advice on-line.
I found myself drawn to the path of Druid in a more "fixed" kind of way a couple of years back after meeting some Druid folk at the Swansea Pagan Moot, although so far my studies have been self motivated under no particular leadership as I wanted to "taste" what was on offer before going down one specific path. I was accepted into the Reformed Druids of Gaia in August 2012, and joined the New Order of Druids shortly after that, both of which I can only inter-act with so far on-line,

but I recently attended the Blessing of the Mistletoe Festival in Tenbury Wells UK, followed by the Damh The Bard gig all of which I totally loved, in fact, I'm still "buzzing" off the energies of it now, all these days on... and I can't wait to go to more events and meet up with other folks of the same beliefs.
Glad to have found this forum, looking forward to getting to know everyone a bit better! Wishing everyone love and peace.
Liz xx
