Greetings,

I'm a new member in Southwest Virginia (New River Valley area), very happy to find OBOD and excited about getting involved - just waiting on the Bard packets to arrive. :) I've been studying Earth-centered religions and ceremonial magic/esoteric work for about 25 years, and am a former Priestess in another Western Mystery tradition, gone solo to pursue a different direction. I've been on my own for about 7 years, looking for something more in line with my personal beliefs and practices, and became interested in OBOD after seeing the fine work that the good people in Sintra, Portugal were doing.

My practice centers on internal martial arts and holistic health, though I'm also an artist, musician, writer, and avid collector of gorgeous fabrics which occasionally get turned into regalia. My biological heritage is mixed European and Native American (as my bio father explained it: "Irish, Mnikowoju Lakota, Cherokee and something blonde") and I work with both sides to try to make peace and find common ground. I work in academia (it's become a form of indentured servitude, but I don't mind it because I get to use the library!) and travel frequently to other college towns and the DC/Balt area, so I hope to be able to meet some of the groups outside of my remote area. Tennessee people, I occasionally make it through that way to go visit family in AR, so please feel free to contact. If nothing else, perhaps we can meet up some time and discuss our studies.

I look forward to learning more and meeting new friends and spiritual family!

Peace and health,

Michelangela

Good day or evening

I am 20 years old and I am from finland.
Grew up at edge of forest and wandered around the forests, swamps, lakes and hills my childhood.
Currently dwelling around this cold northern country, but I haven't had permanent place since I am 15 years old.
Most of the time traveling around.
Singing and dancing (badly),Volunteer working,Playing,Walking,Hitchhiking etc..

My road has been going through Shamanism,Wicca and Druid, all these stay with me.
I wish to learn here more of druids way and about you everyone.

Enjoy the Spring everyone ^^

Hawddamor!

I am 36 years old and I live on the Dyfi estuary in Mid Wales, a little north from the village of Taliesin. Although not an official OBODie I have acquaintances who are and many of the threads here touch on my research and interests. I have had a little more to do with the Welsh Eisteddfod than the OBOD one but I am very interested to see where Old Iolo has lead this merry dance. Please get in touch if you have any questions regarding Welsh source texts, it's my one true passion other than music.

Merry meet, dear all! :shake:

I am Joralyn, an Ovate, and a member of OBOD for the past 10 years. And, no I have not yet managed to join the forums..., until now.

My homecountry is Greece, and l live in Athens. With my spiritual sister Adalia have formed the Seed Group OakMoon three years ago, and we work in both Druidry and Wicca, since we are both Wiccan Priestesses. Our group has 9 members, 4 of them are official OBODies-soon to become 5. We meet at the eight festivals, and also we try to meet at every New and Full Moon. We are blessed to have our own place, for our meetings. :curtsey:

Starting today I plan to visit these halls regularly and communicate as much as possible. Inspiration needs a boost some times, we know that! :cloud9:

Under the sunny blue sky of Athens, even in these days of austerity we still have hope for a better future. :D

Snding many blessings to all!

Welcome Stephanie :yay:

I don't think you're our only member in Nebraska, and there are a few others in the upper midwest, especially Iowa.

In days pre-Druidic, I was in Des Moines (many years ago, before you were born :old: )

Hello all

My name is Gwen and I'm 39. I live in New Brunswick, Canada and about 10 plus years ago I stumbled on my pagan path. Initially, it was Druidry that drew me, but a friend was into Wicca and I researched that. Now I've come full circle and am just at the beginning of the Bard level of my journey with OBOD. I'm looking forward to it, but know realistically I will be slow at it (children and life and all :) ).

Nice to 'meet' you all

Hi Gwen :hiya: The slower the better! |-) What's the saying? "As fast as a speeding Oak!" :-) As to your family, My child (who is actually an adult now) was a great help to me on my jouney and I hope yours will be for you! :D After all there really is no separation as you know. Anyhoo, when it's time, please feel free to sign up for the member's forums as well here: viewforum.php?f=240

Let's see...oh, our main site is www.druidry.org but then you most likely know that already. :-) Well, if you need anything or have any questions just post or give a shout.

Cheers,

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the welcome :) Oh yes, an oak is definitely about my speed right now, but all in good time. My children definitely help me in ways I wouldn't have expected, and you are right there is definitely no separation there. I will definitely be signing on to the members forum...just need to remember to bring my book to the computer...lol

Thanks again and very much looking forward to reading more...

You're very welcome Gwen. You laughed about the book and the computer thingy, but ya know, remembering things is hard when you have children....that's because our minds are stuffed with the things they need to remember. :-) By the way that parental "mind stuffing" that we do has many side effects that seem stick with you a while. :-)

Hello everyone, I'm Trine and I'm 24, expat Dane now living in the Netherlands. I've been reading the boards with interest for almost a year, but only just joined. I've been on my path since I was 15, though I think I wandered off some years ago. Now it's time to really start looking at how I want to live my life... and druidry fits in quite well there, I think. I haven't yet started the Bardic course, though I have the intro package and I'm trying to figure out if I have the funds for both the text and audio course, or only the text course. I've been feeling ... sluggish for the past two or three years, so it's time for something new to happen. :)

Looking forward to learning lots here!
