and thank you for your positivity about the Welsh, I wasn't apologising for being Welsh though, like I said we are a small but proud country and it says something of our resilience that we still maintain our cultural roots our language (which nearly disappeared at one point) traditions that we clung onto but are now thriving and how we can live with our next door neighbours (most of us are part English) and benefit from doing so. We are still devolving and have a big referendum coming soon. Traditions such as the National Eisteddfod, Urdd Eisteddfod and International Eisteddfod have helped place us on the world map. It's a marvelous experience at international level, where countries compete against each other...when our little school competed there the whole world seemed to be under one large tent roof...Swedish, Polish, English, Asian, even the Masai. It was a very humbling experience. I always wear my daffodil with pride and honour the diversity of my lineage.

And I've found out a little more, we're a regular global village. There's a Scottish Aunt in Canada and a strong Cornish Welsh link, well our commonalities include (tin) mining as well as the language root. So the baby has a plethora of cultures to embrace

she's put out two cds, both lovely, but she was only sixteen when she did the first, and there's a great improvement in the second. celestial echoes is the name of it. i'm hanging out for her next.

i was wondering when you'd come back to us. we met at cooringal grove at raf's (lesley's) first hosting of the assembly. i hadn't changed my name yet so i was still called vivienne back then. we sang folk songs together - you played the recorder which you were just learning at the time and we sang english folk songs. there were a lot of people there and we all sat round singling and playing our instruments. do you remember me among the many?

Rav3en, lovely that you found Grandmother Oak! We have some oak trees here that we grew from acorns from one my Great Grandmother had in her yard. Many members of the family have grown trees from that one, and it is a lovely family tradition.
