Hi Awengirl :hiya: nice to meet you.

I've found as part of the bardic grade you start to connect with your local environment more and as this happens you start seeing how the things here differ to the "traditional\ Northern hemisphere calender"
If I remember correctly I think there is actually a bit about this further back on this thread with some book recomendations too!

Counting down and looking forward to the Assembly! Will take photos and make sure we give you a detailed report Bronzie
Blessings,

Aurora :D

Hi Awengirl!

Thanks Aurora!

I had an interesting Grove meditation this week. A different Grove kept trying to fade in, and this one was all red earth, twisted ghost gums and bright blue sky. I ended up letting it come, and got to have a cool journey with a racehorse goanna. Hey, why is it that reptiles never have a sense of humour? :) The bungarra told me that I needed to start giving more consideration to local spirits and places with my studies. My usual Grove is local trees, but apparently I've got to get out further into the red earth land. Was very interesting being able to smell/taste/see with my tongue, and boy was I strong!

Hugs,

Bronzie

Y - I will be marooned at the airport on the Thursday not the Wednesday - from 10 til 2pm - otherwise I would very gladly have shared a cuppa with you. However, I will be meeting up with Elkie somewhere along the line (must remember to email her) as she is planning to hire a car and has offered me a lift....apparently we are on the same flight out from Adelaide. So looking forward to meeting you.

Hey Dragonwyst!

Sounds like we will both be at adelaide airport for a while on the Thursday, though I won't be there until about 11:30 :D

Looks like I should park myself under an OBOD banner at Adelaide (or a potted oak tree? :coad: ) :2dance: and see who gathers.... - Or maybe pop up a sign saying "get your mead here..." :gulp:

Blessings of Alban Eiler to all.

I performed a wonderful ritual this morning, sowing some seeds along with my aspirations for the coming times. Had a really blissful connection with the rising sun. There were kangaroos nearby in the scrub, and I felt them telling me they wanted to be part of my druid work, so I invited them, and other native Australian animals to become the new representatives for each direction of the circle. Now I feel much more connected to the native animals of this land. Had to let some of the European animals I worked with go to make space for the new comers.

The spring air is so fresh and gently warm here!

May all good dreams sprout and grow!

Peace,
Whytefox

Have finally booked my flights for the retreat! :yay:

Now I wait for the call from work when I land in Adelaide wondering where I am, because they forgot they approved the time off. Bless 'em.

I think I'll stay at the hostel and hire a car. Husbands worried about it being too cold etc, and I do tend to function better after a nice hot shower each morning.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Bright Blessings!

I haven't visited for a while, but it is good to see the Aussie Thread is so alive.
I'm sorry I can't make the Assembly, but I hope it is a time of great community, passion and Blessings for all who are there.
Congratulations on the entry to Ovate Grade Bronzewing. I have just started the Grade and have a sense that it will be incredible, so perhaps meet you on the journey.
Welcome Awengirl. I too struggle with the North/South disjoint, but I found that the Bardic grade did indeed foster links with this land, most clearly manifest in the integration of native trees in my Grove. For me, the wisdom and myths do translate across the ether, and I connect strongly with the Northern tradition in my inner life, but I need to find a way of relating to the land here in Oz when my eyes are open and I traverse the exterior world. So I do try to find Australian correspondences to European nature: it is still a work in progress.....
May the Blessings of Awen fill your lives

Unfortunately it seems i'm not going to be able to make the assembly :( As my dog has been unwell with a back condition and staying at the vets and is now recuperating at home so i need to be with her for the next little bit. I'd really hoped to be still be able to go but i just don't feel it would be right when my Jenna has been so unwell. I hope everyone has a fabulous time and you all tell us all about it when you get back and maybe next time i'll be able to make it.

Blessings

Here's hoping that Jenna is well on the road to recovery now, Aurora. XXX

I have Labrador puppies due here for my Rosie in two weeks. Yikes! Would appreciate any extra good wishes to come Rosie's way for her and all her babies to be safe and well.

Hugs,

Well - I shall be the first to say it: A most wonderful Assembly 2011 was had by all. It will take grave circumstances indeed to prevent me from finding a way to be there next year. :warm: :gulp:
