One outpost, Dúbh Linn, became Dublin, the other, Linn Duchaill, was lost in time. Perhaps until now. A team of archaeologists announced on Friday that it has found the lost Viking settlement near the village of Annagassan, 70 kilometers north of Dublin.... more

Well I'll be, must do some more digging. Perhaps this place was an encampment for the Gallowglaigh?

1259 is approximately the first record of their service under Irish nobility. Norse clans, Corroghadh are approximately 100 men each, these encampments would be essential for the lot of them.

I am always interested in such topics as they are my ancestors, something that has kept me steadfast along lifes journey.
