Summer Solstice ( Stonehenge 2010 )

Postby moonfrog » 22 Jun 2010, 03:41

I walked many times around the mansions ruin, through the night, not daring to approach too close too soon

Many danced beneath its lofty linteled beam, as would happy lambs in spring

Above, the star ploughed sky, held love and war, two tethered dogs at bay

The white mounds walls had long been scattered to the field

The roof held naught but times illusion, no vaulted room where darkest light might stay

At rise of Sun, I listened to a Druid and players sing, give praise to birth of new immaculate day

A circle of older folk gathered near the tilting Heel, joined hands and chants as one

Walking on water trapped in blistered feet, I came away, turning once or twice to pray

Three hares dashed across a fresh shorn field, the fiercest chased the shy away

ps

looks like these three hares are well known at Stonehenge , found these video clips
