Poem based on the OBOD mini-poster

Postby MistyNightWind » 26 Sep 2010, 16:44

Greetings!
As part of a 'writing poetry' module I had to write a poem which consisted of questions. So for inspiration I turned to Druidry and specifically the OBOD mini-poster and thought some of you here might be interested  so this is what I came up with:

How do I believe in what I cannot see?
How can I live without the moon and its otherworldly tune?
Where would I be without the sun and the festivities of fun?
Why would I want to live without the beauty of the bard despite however scarred?
Who would I be if I could not see the beauty before me?
And what would I be without truth?
How can we live without the trees and the breeze that runs through them?
Who would we be without our history and our ancestry?
What would we be without a love of justice without malice?
Where would we be without the stars and the sky, where would the birds fly?
Why would we want to live without a love for nature, life?
What would we do without animals since we are, inwardly equal?
And what would life be without peace? There would be no release. (?)
So why not drink mead to those that we cannot see? There is no need to bleed. (?)
And this is weird?
And you think we all have to have long white beards? This is not so!

:awen:
