I wanted to write a "proposal" poem to read to my now fiancee'. I had tried for weeks to write it but inspiration would come to me so I let it go. Then on September the 19th on a Sunday morning, Awen poured over me when I awoke. I sat down and penned this gift in an hour and a half. I knew that that day was the day to propose. It turned out to be an amazing day.
Anything and Everything
The permanence of
Anything, everything
Cannot be known,
For we, like a vapor,
Appear and vanish
Too quickly to tell;
And in this brief
Anything, everything
We have called life,
Like so many
Slivered silvered clouds,
We cross the night sky
And leave with the dawn.
Like most, in this small
Anything, everything
We have called awake,
I have dreamed of
Finding that one piece
Of my eternity that
Could make from
My discordant notes
A symphony.
You, my love, are
That anything, everything
I have always wanted
In dreams and
Dreamed of wanting,
You, my love,
Are the only one
Anything and everything
With whom I want
To spend any and
Every day of whatever
This life is or will be.
For anything and everything
Which I have ever
Hoped or dreamed to hope
Is wrapped up in the
Anything and everything
That you are to me.
