one more then off to work

Postby Crimson Stormfire » 23 Jan 2011, 15:05

again open critique is welcome.

this is called

"World gone mad"

Standing at the edge

of a world gone mad.

Of machines and and gears.

Disconnected we yearn

for the green things and blue skies.

confined in our concrete jungles we strive

to rejoin the disjointed.

some of us have succeeded

leaving the glass and steel behind

for a life in the trees yet

they have found a balance

between what is our waking world

and that of the ancient myths.

They talk to the animals

And whisper to the winds

listen to the tales of the stars.

and yet still go home,

to their apartments,

or houses in downtown,

and relay the ancient knowledge

and wisdom to the world

via an internet blog

or forum posting.

not ignoring the industry,

not accepting it either

but finding a working balance

between what was

what is

and what shall be.

Some of us still yearn for that freedom.

we can see the door to it,

but we ourselves are to afraid to open it.

Hi,
Glad I came across this piece. I am rather interested on how disconnected we are and the impact this has on us emotionally and spiritually.

“Some of us still yearn for that freedom.

we can see the door to it,

but we ourselves are to afraid to open it.”
I particularly like this. It opens up to contemplating what there is to fear and what may induce it.

Thanks for posting, I think Ill post alike.

We are in sync Romelia, if you can gain access to the christian gated section, I was just raising this very issue. Division exists only within the mind when you think that A. You and your beliefs/way of living are superior or B. You and your beliefs/way of living are inferior.
We all wear the judges wig.
Crimson, your fan as usual.Thank you. :)

Maybe not as black and white as that. But yes division can be a barrier. There are many other reasons for disconnection to our environment and aspirations ranging from political, cultural and biological. Often these are out of our individual control. (Physical limitations, responsibilities and abusive environments)

thank you both.
this disconnect also serves as our connect. if you follow my meaning,
druids and the like of old spent their lives either travelling the world gaining foreign knowledge or staying in one place listening to foreigner knowledge and adding their own wisdom. now we can study abroad via pc, or share wisdom and spellcraft via mesage board. and we stand at the threshold of technology vs nature , instead of technology in nature, i do believe however that magic has changed with the advent of tech and will discuss that point at a later time.
thank you again for all your support and welcome discussions!

I will have to disagree that in this day and age of technology and information sharing we are at the mercy of Physical limitations, responsibilities and abusive environments.
Tome the internet is a magical tool one that I never envisaged when I was 15 and writing with a fountain pen.A click of a button ,and hey presto, answers, others, others with the same problems, others suffering from abuse and dealing with it, others standing against political decisions (Eygypt) others caring for the environment.
So we have a big magical tool at our disposal and you need never meet those others in person but we have connected mind to mind. An essence of ourselves laid bare to an audience. Our inner thoughts and aspirations, not merely talking of the weather and Mrs Smith who has been shagging the husband of Mrs Jones. But dialogue of a different sort.Indepth and personal. I am touched by people sharing those creative aspects of themselves. The poetry and art and interests and I see hope.

i tend to believe that we are not at the mercy of physical limitations anymore when it comes to sharing knowledge, art, or photos, writings etc.... what i meant to draw attention to is the difference between those of us who have embraced the tech as part of our spiritual journey rather than and awkward hindrance or outright blasphemy. i look at the internet as the new druids library i mean every thing we could ever want to know is here in some form or another. But also we lose something in the process i.e. its one thing to see a maypole danced on youtube than it is to actually be there and dance a maypole yourself and feel the magic. so it even though it doesnt replace experience technology can and does aid in knowledge. Hence a working balance can be found between the tech and the experience. Would we have ever had the opportunity to discuss this musing had it not been for the technology? who can say for certain...but chances are high that it wouldnt have happened. To me the weirdness comes in when i meet a pagan showy green-peacer that says "oh i dont own a computer, i grow my own food, and stay pretty much to myself in a hermit style life, heres my website, and facebook address and my cell phone # hit me up sometime and we can go to starbucks for a mocha white chai latte." those guys definitely have a disconnect between tech and nature. there is a balance and some people just plain miss the boat. :D

Lived lessons and hard experience are some of the best ways of learning and gaining insight into things Crimson. It's nice to have a newcomer to speak to, not one of the in crowd. I read somewhere that DJ thinks the incrowd is well hidden here to help promote healthy discussion. I don't think they are so well hidden myself but that's probably just a facet of my learned paranoia poking through. Anyway things to do, places to go.
