Moondance

Postby Greenwood » 07 Apr 2011, 15:36

Willow had a mind one day
to take herself a' courting,
out she called to master Oak
"Oh will you come a' walking?"

"Walking?" said master Oak
his leaves and branches shaking,
"Not until the moon is full
and stars they are awaking".

Twenty days and eight she waited
hearing blackbird singing,
hares a' leaping all around,
her moondanced head was ringing.

The silver wheel shone in the sky
so patiently she'd listened,
for sounds of master Oak himself,
but only stars they glistened.

"Oh master Oak where are you now,
you promised me your walking"
"This i can't do" said master Oak
Thorn has my heart a' talking.

Willow began to weep and wail
her roots they soon were soaking,
and so until this day you'll find
her by the waters waiting.

Beautiful!
When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.- Davinci

that was beautiful, Greenwood. A little sad though.
The trees reach out as silent witnesses always willing to listen to your troubled heart. Nature offers her ears to anyone who speaks into the omnipotant silence. There are places that wait for you. You are loved....you are wanted....you are cared for. You are not alone.....you are not alone.....you have never been alone.

Greenwood,

I loved this one. It will come to mind every time I now see a Weeping Willow. And a Hawthorn. :applause:

I really loved that. It flowed beautifully. thank you.
I have a Willow grove in my garden and hold a Full moon ceremony every month, so this resonated with me.

Love this, has a nice flow to it. Could imagine it well as a song.
