Vignette

Postby Kima » 14 Apr 2011, 18:57

If I were a fox I would keep my muzzle burried in the ground, taking in the musty scent of dead leaves and moss, basking in the hidden heat of roots. On the earth's surface there is too much sky and light blinds me. The beauty of rocks left behind by the last ice age makes me cry. The woods have grown all around them, absorbing the isolation spreading from the midst of each stone, a sadness that glows deep in the night. I cannot stand the vivid colours of autumn, have become too sensitive to movement. The world is a busy painting I am unable to take in; its paintbrush streaks hurt me like wounds.

You sound like an empath, Kima. :) I really like the reference to the fox burying it's muzzle in the earth. The earth is sacred, quiet and deep. The pain in the world is as vast as the universe and the heartbreaking stories as innumerable as the stars. The same can be said of love and joy. This poem has a lot of depth, IMO. The more I read it and thought about it, the more I appreciated it.
The trees reach out as silent witnesses always willing to listen to your troubled heart. Nature offers her ears to anyone who speaks into the omnipotant silence. There are places that wait for you. You are loved....you are wanted....you are cared for. You are not alone.....you are not alone.....you have never been alone.
