Guarded by the lady, the shadow, the dragon and the wolf.
Set on stone at the foot of a waterfall.
With warnings and welcomes they beckoned me closer.
I moved towards the door,
Filled with exhileration, wonder and fear.
on my first step,
the dragon spied knowingly, and with a grandfatherly wink, he bared his teeth.
on my second step,
the shadow wrapped me like a warm cloak, the turned bitter as it left me.
upon my third step,
the lady smiled seductively then screamed the banshees mournful howl.
on my last step,
the wolf nuzzled my hand and brushed warmly against me growling ferociously.
Now i stand at the door having been welcome and warned by the four guardians.
I open the door again and see....
i see..
A mirror looking back at me my own reflection.
but it is only me....and nothing else.
I look away and see behind me the wolf, the dragon, the lady, the shadow.
I look into the door and see myself staring back at me...
but it isnt me standing there...
i study myself and find...
I have the eyes if the dragon.
sharp and seeing,
the allure of the lady,
seductive, dangerous and sad yet filled with mirth.
The shade of the shadow,
darkens my brow with arcane knowledge.
The heart of the wolf,
with the clarity of loyalty and honour.
I stand there and realize after many an age that the relfection i see in the door is my reality.
I am the wolf.
I am the lady.
I am the dragon.
I am the shadow.
I am the reflection staring back at my seperated whole.
I step into the mirror door and become one again.
my door has been opened,
with whimsey and care,
with wisdom and ignorance,
with pride and humility,
with courage and cowardice.
the gods have blessed me,
my door has been opened.
I see myself truely.
my door is open.
may you find the courage to open your own door
and see yourself.
this concludes the saga of the unfound door. i am sure there will be more "poetry involving these types of doors,
i just dont know when they will appear. thank you all for reading these
